Colorado Chaps Company specializes in custom fit nylon, 1000D Cordura or cotton canvas chaps for motorcyclists, equestrians, hunters, construction workerswhoever works or plays hard, but wants to stay clean and dry. These chaps feature full length YKK zippers and a quick adjust side belt attachment for easy on-off operation. They roll up small into their own stuff sack to be stowed in saddlebags or behind the seat of your truckready when you are!
The first of these “shotgun” style chaps were made for an ol’ Wyoming cowboy who insisted on elk hunting in Levis no matter how extreme the fall Rocky Mountain weather got; Typically T-shirts one day, the next a blizzard! Over-pants don’t work since they cover up knives and other items worn on the belt, get in the way when “nature calls” and generally require you to remove your boots to put on. Instead, we set him up with a modern version of the chaps from his youth replacing heavy leather with the lighter more mobile waterproof nylons used to make backpacks. Since then he’s done a lot of trudging in the snow and mud, but always returned to camp with clean dry Levis..thanks to his Colorado Chaps!
Our largest following now comes from motorcycle riders, men and women who want something lighter and more manageable than cumbersome leather chaps. We’ve addressed bike specific needs by offering options such as reflective tape, knee armor or fleece lined with a new Kevlar option. Our equestrians in the Pacific Northwest request our fleece-lined option! Be sure to check out our new half-chaps (Spats) and Gauntlet Arm Covers.
Our greatest feature of all is that your chaps are custom built right here in Colorado. Give us your inseam and thigh measurements and we’ll guarantee you a better fit than “small, medium or large.”
We are proud to have our chaps on truck drivers, highway patrolmen, traffic controllers, ditch riders, hikers, bikers and ATV riders........how about you!?
Let us build you a pair here in Colorado. We would like to hear how you put them to work.
